Free online animated JPEG XL Maker

The Animated JXL (JPEG XL) Maker is an online tool that allows you to create high-quality animated images using the modern JPEG XL format. You can easily combine multiple images (such as JPG, PNG, and WebP) or merge existing animations (including GIF, APNG, and WebP) into a single, animated JXL file. Our tool ensures that the original quality and transparency are preserved, taking full advantage of the JPEG XL codec's capabilities.

This tool gives you complete control over your animation frames. Once uploaded, you can view and rearrange frames with drag-and-drop, toggle specific frames to skip or enable them, duplicate frames with a single click. We offer advanced frame management options like skipping a range of frames or targeting every N-th frame for deletion. If your source images are of different sizes, the "Equalize" feature will help you automatically crop or resize them to match, ensuring a seamless animation.

Fine-tune your animation with precision by adjusting the global delay time (speed) or setting individual delays for each frame. The JXL Maker also supports custom loop counts, the ability to add a crossfade (fader) effect between frames for smooth transitions, and a "don't stack" option for handling transparent backgrounds. The tool is entirely web-based, fast, free, and adds no watermarks to your creations. You can use it on any device without the need to install any software.

Warning: As of January 2026, most web browsers still does not support animated JPEG XL files or require experimental flags or specific configurations to natively display them. If the output image preview doesn't appear in your browser, don't worry — the tool has still successfully generated your file. You can download the resulting JXL file to your device or continue editing it with other local tools.
