Transform your animated GIFs, APNGs, WebPs and still images with classic halftone effects using various dithering patterns. This tool uses ImageMagick's ordered dithering to create newspaper-style dot patterns, circular halftones, and modern dithering effects that simulate traditional print media.
Halftone Patterns
Standard Halftone Patterns: These create the classic newspaper-style dot patterns in various sizes. The 4x4 patterns work well for smaller images, while 8x8 patterns provide finer detail for larger images. The "A" variants create angled patterns, while "Orthogonal" creates straight grid patterns.
Circle Patterns: Generate circular dot patterns similar to traditional halftone printing. The "B" (black) variants start with black dots on white background, while "W" (white) variants start with white dots on black background. Different sizes (5x5, 6x6, 7x7) provide various levels of detail.
Ordered Dither: Modern dithering patterns that create structured noise patterns. Smaller grids (2x2, 3x3) create coarser effects, while larger grids (4x4, 8x8) provide smoother gradations.
Threshold Control
The threshold level controls the balance between light and dark areas. Lower values (0-30) create more black areas, higher values (70-100) create more white areas, and middle values (40-60) provide balanced results.
