This tool allows you to compress AVIF (AV1 Image File Format) files to reduce file size while maintaining high visual quality. It supports both static AVIF images and animated AVIF sequences (AVIFS).

By adjusting the compression factor, you can significantly shrink the file size of your AVIFs, making them load faster on websites. For animated AVIFs, you also have the option to lower the frame rate by skipping frames, which can further reduce the file size.

How to optimize AVIF files?

  1. Upload: Select a local AVIF file from your device or drag and drop it onto the upload area.
  2. Configure: Adjust the "Quality" slider to find the balance between file size and image clarity. Lower values result in smaller files but lower quality. For animations, you can check "Remove every second frame" to cut the frame rate in half.
  3. Compress: Click the "Optimize image!" button. The tool will process the file using the advanced avifenc encoder.
  4. Download: Compare the original and optimized images. If satisfied with the result, save the new AVIF file.
